Traditionally kanthas are made by women in Bengal and Bangladesh using their saris. The saris are layered together with pieces of fabric between them and then hand-stitched using a running stitch to make warm new throws that can then be used in various ways.
With a different sari on each side you get double the fun and colour by turning it over. Although lightweight the quilt is warm and perfect for chilly nights.
Each one is unique - one of a kind.
As this is made from vintage saris there may be some patches, irregular stitching or marks. We believe this makes the quilt even more special. The quilt has been washed and dried in the Australian sun.
