Colourful Bishnoi village pouffe [Size:Short Bishnoi village pouffe ]
On the edge of the world's 2nd largest desert the Great Thar you will find the Bishnoi village. The Bishnoi have a long history of active conservation and reverence for nature. Their guru gave them a key message to protect trees and wildlife around 540 years ago when nobody could predict that harming the environment means harming yourself. He formulated twenty nine tenets. The tenets were not only tailored to conserve bio-diversity of the area but also ensured a healthy eco-friendly social life for the community. Nearly 300 years ago over 360 adherants were killed by the local maharaja's soldiers whilst trying to save the trees he wanted cut down for wood to build a new palace.
What a better community to support with these pouffes.
